Light at the end of the Tunnel

Being of a certain age that qualifies you for such things, Ms. Seeking and I became eligible for our COVID vaccine this week.  After a year of weirdness and months of waiting I can honestly say I have never been more excited to receive a vaccination.  Come to think of it, I’ve never had a vaccination elicit any kind of excitement at all until this one.

Sign-up was easy peazy online and this morning we headed over to the Chaffee county fairgrounds for our 9:30 appointment.  The line of cars indicated an encouraging level of participation.

Almost our turn.

No need to get out.  Shots were administered in the comfort of your own car.

Got mine!

Getting the vaccination feels like the first step towards the light after wandering in the dark for the past year.  It feels like progress. It feels good.  In 21 days we get our second shot (Chaffee county has the Pfizer vaccine).  And then?  We’ll see.  All I know is I’m ready to shake hands, hug friends, kiss relatives and maybe lick a door knob or two… all in good time.  All in good time.
