A few weeks ago we had a couple of sunny, 70-degree days in a row. We were sitting outside at Soulcraft having beers with friends, enjoying the perfect weather and celebrating a great day on the slopes.
The last day of skiing at Monarch was April 11. We managed to ski 20 days this season, which was a personal record. But you could feel Spring in the air. Time to hang up the skis, put away the fat bike and break out the mountain bike and hiking boots. And while it’s kind of sad to see the snow going away, I’m having a great time rediscovering the trails I rode back in August. Like seeing old friends again.
Then it snowed four more times. Nothing big, just enough to keep us inside for a day or two until the sun came out and dried out the trails again. Such is springtime in the mountains.
So, for inspiration between snow showers or whenever you may need it, here are three videos that make me want to go out and ride.
This one makes me smile. Three ladies from Silverton demonstrating the proper way to have fun on bikes.
From 2015 and still one of my favorites. Brandon Semenuk. Smooth riding and smooth camera work set to a smooth old tune.
And no inspirational video list would be complete without Danny MacAskill. Is gravity different in Scotland? Because, dang.
