Winter is finally getting with the program around here! We got two straight days of snow followed by an evening of single digit temperatures which makes for light, dry powder the consistency talc covering everything like a soft down comforter.
We woke up this morning to cloudless skies, reasonable temps and amazingly, very little wind. The kind of bluebird day skiers dream of. Time to head up to the mountains for some social distancing on sticks.
The ride up the Garfield lift was encouraging.
The unmistakable Mount Aetna and Taylor Mountain dominate the skyline to the northeast.
Heading down Turbo.
View from the Panorama lift.
On the Continental Divide.
Top of Outback.
Looking back up.
Plenty of frosty trees.
Too much snow! Can’t. Stand. Up.
Shadow selfie!
It was our best day at Monarch so far this season. It was great to see the mountain starting to look like the Monarch I remember!
